Dyson Pure Cool Link filters air, odors and allergens
British manufacturer Dyson is launching its first smart health smart health connected object, the Dyson Pure Cool Link, an air purifier capable of filtering pollutants, odors and allergens contained in indoor air.
After seducing the planet with its futuristic-looking vacuum cleaners, ultra-fast hand dryers, designer fans or reversible heaters, Dyson announces the launch of its first smart health smart health connected object : the Pure Cool Link (now available, it appears notably in our comparison of the best air purifiers)
Sold $550, this air purifier promises to automatically remove 99.95% of allergens and pollutants from indoor air (down to 0.1 micron) and will associated with a mobile application allowing the device to be programmed and controlled remotely.
Introducing the Pure Cool Link
Based on the principle that modern buildings are often built to be more and more airtight, they make it possible to retain heat and reduce noise pollution, but also help to retain pollutants inside our homes.
This is how we spend about 90% of our life inside buildings that trap many fine particles and volatile organic compounds.
The British manufacturer explains that indoor air can be up to 5 times more polluted than outdoor air … its new Pure Cool Link attempts to remedy this by combining style, efficiency and connectivity.
How the Pure Cool Link works
Thanks to Dyson’s Air Multiplier technology and its small, quiet motor, the Pure Cool Link purifier draws air in through a mixed flow turbine.
Once the air is sucked in, the air passes through the HEPA circular filter made of fiberglass to trap fine particles, including odors, pollen and harmful bacteria. This filter is associated with a activated carbon layer to capture odors and toxic components such as paint fumes, etc.
The purified air is then projected far into the room by the ring and its aerodynamic ramp.
Auto mode
An auto mode has been added and accessible directly from the Pure Cool Link remote control.
In this mode, the machine automatically detects the level of ambient air quality and adapts the filtration level by itself to its current environment.
Mobile application
The Mobile application supplied with the Pure Cool Link (available on iOS and Android today) also allows:
- control the device remotely,
- consult a operating history of the device and its efficiency
- plan ahead periods of more sustained operation.
For example, you can set the Pure Cool Link to work intensively during periods of hay fever for users particularly sensitive to allergies.
