How to succeed in your studies?
How to succeed in your studies?
What is visualization? Why does it work? How can the environment and its influence be an obstacle to success? Why is clothing important? Why orientation remains a real problem for students?Interview: Antoinette Champclos Infallible method for successful studiesVisualize your success. How exactly? How do you explain that it works?
Visualization is the essential source of motivation to work. Indeed, everyone knows that to succeed, you have to work. The real problem is therefore: how to get to work and stay motivated and this, for months and years throughout the course of studies?Visualization is a mental technique similar to self-hypnosis, which allows you to evoke in your mind a scene, a situation or an emotion, oriented towards a goal to be achieved. In this case, I advise students, instead of imagining how they could fail exams, rather visualize “as if” they were passing their exams and that, being comfortable and responding brilliantly! During my studies, I always visualized the desired results, in this case the success of my exams, before and during the tests, imagining in detail that I knew the subject well and that it was not complicated. find the correct answer quickly enough. The first time I discovered this technique was during my show jumping riding lessons: my trainer asked me each time before starting to jump my horse, to first imagine myself doing this journey mentally and successfully. It worked almost every time, so over time I applied this technique to other areas of life, and naturally to pass my exams. These “as if” visualization techniques therefore aim to mark the unconscious. With repetition, the image of the desired result, which the subject self-suggests, imprints itself in the unconscious and is accepted as “truth”, since our unconscious makes no difference between real experience and experience intensely imagined and accompanied by strong emotions. Obviously, visualizing is not enough to succeed, but these techniques reinforce the positive effect, especially in the case where the student has studied well, but blocks the chances of his success because of his mental panics, stress and others. , thereby driving black holes. This is why it must be done methodically, that is to say, visualize the success of the obstacles as a whole and also one after the other. How can the environment and its influence be an obstacle to success?
Our environment plays a determining role with regard to our behavior, the making of our decisions and, ultimately and influences us considerably for our failure or our success. To succeed better and more easily in their studiesstudents need an environment that regularly reminds them of their good intentions: to work and stay motivated over time to succeed in their professional project, starting with successfully completing their studies. Unfortunately, very often our entourage is not only made up of people who favorably influence us to succeed. You know the old saying: “tell me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who you are”. As a result, when students surround themselves with people who doubt their performance, with peers who question their ability to succeed, advise them against continuing their studies, encourage them to skip class or who have problems with them – themselves and therefore with society, these students will be negatively influenced by their friends, parents or other people around them.Paradoxically, even the best-meaning parents in the world can be an obstacle to academic success. Therefore, it is enough to understand that a student succeeds better and more easily, if he surrounds himself with friends whose state of mind is positive and people who succeed, because in this way he will adopt and naturally imitate tried and tested behaviors. For illustration, it can happen that our own entourage, including our parents, prevents us from flourishing and following our path when we do not share their plans for our future. Here, it is important for a student to be able to critically appreciate the advice of his parents and those close to him, telling himself that, of course, the parents wish him well, but the problem is that they do not know not themselves how to achieve it. The solution here would be to ask in case of doubt: is this person already where I want to get to? And if the answer is negative, do not hesitate to seek the company of those who already successfully exercise the profession he has chosen and who could encourage him to become what he wishes to be.How important is clothing? Doesn’t look too much. Shouldn’t we rather let nature take its course?
In general, physical appearance influences our credibility and the evaluation of our ability to integrate into the group. If our natural tendency is within the mainstream of the discipline and the establishment, naturally we should rather let the natural take its course. On the other hand, if this is not the case, I think that we must make an effort to adapt to the unwritten and unspoken rules of the establishment, which it is up to us first to decode in order to identify the principles dominant.
Thus, without additional work, one can create a competitive advantage, by accrediting the idea that our appearance, and even better then, our behavior seems to fit into the “canons” of the professional life to which these studies lead, this that teachers will not fail to spot.
Why is orientation a problem for students? Despite the wealth of information in guidance centers or on the internet?
Certainly, sources of orientation information are numerous, but are they sufficiently consulted and above all their responses sufficiently integrated? In the same way, strategic analyzes are numerous, but how many consult them seriously before starting? Indeed, a large number of students find themselves in a higher education establishment somewhat by chance, “studying for the sake of studying”, others please their parents or those around them, still others do not have enough confidence in them to dare to go into the subjects that interest them.
This problematic is precisely the object of “my method”. In fact, I insist on the need for students to ask themselves the right questions before enrolling in any course of study, to help them identify what they really want to become.
