Title: If you love food, get this book!
Review: I thought this book was great for everything, but it was the restaurant recommendations that really make this guide so good. Not only were many of the restaurants brand new, having opened either just before or just after Paris’ lockdowns, but they were all clearly local’s favorites, even the ones in touristy areas. That meant better food than we found through Rick Steves (always too touristy) or Fodors (it only recommends really pricey places), and places that were convenient to what we wanted to see, or took us into really interesting neighborhoods we wouldn’t have known to visit otherwise.I also LOVED the self-guided walking tours in this book. Much more interesting than the walks we paid for with a guide (wish we’d just used the book!), with a nice mix of history and sociology, so you learned about the Paris of yesterday and today. The itineraries were also super helpful for creating a “plan of attack” that was logical, and allowed us to see what we wanted to see without feeling like we were spending all day running around. A great book!

Title: Great, great book! Made the trip so much better.
Review: Great, great book! Made the trip so much betterWe really loved this book because it was so clearly written by local authors, and also clearly written recently. So much changed in the state during the pandemic, and we found that older guidebooks, and even internet articles, just had a lot of wrong advice, and closed hotels and restaurants, in them. Not this one. It was well organized, had GREAT suggested itineraries (really helped make the most of our time), and reviews that included prices rather than price ranges, which was so much better for creating a budget. I also felt like the reviews of attractions didn’t pull their punches. By looking at the stars and reading the details, I could figure out which attractions and hiking would actually would be worth my time. Great restaurant suggestions too! Just a really solid piece of writing and advice!

Title: Very helpful information in a user friendly format
Review: I’ve always liked the Frommer guides and this one was very helpful on my recent trip to Paris. I’d been to Paris before, but not for 25 years, so this had great information on current sites, opening hours etc. The hotel and restaurant suggestions were useful but somewhat limited as there are so many of them in Paris, so not all of them can be reviewed.

Title: BEST GUIDE BOOK OF PARIS POST PANDEMIC
Review: This book is just so smartly done, and very up-to-date (it was clearly written after the pandemic lockdowns, unlike other guides I consulted). I found real local’s restaurants and shopping options through this book that I didn’t find anywhere else, and felt that the suggested itineraries did the trick, in that they helped me organize my time in a logical fashion. Plus, the way the authors wove tidbits about the history and culture of Paris throughout the book was great—made it a really fun read. Get this guide: it will make your trip so much better!!

Title: A wonderful book!!
Review: It was my first trip to France but this book made me feel so prepared. I loved the way the author told the history throughout and really helped me better understand the culture. And all the recommendations were spot on! Great restaurants, enough info so I’d know which museums to see (there are so many choices) and fabulous shopping options. I can’t wait to return to Paris! Beautiful city and not nearly as intimidating as I thought it would be (thanks in large part to this book!!)
