Title: Delightfully beautiful.
Review: The story is beautifully written in all the languages used. I found myself thinking of Nanee’ and Edouard throughout the day. I couldn’t wait to get back to their story. Review: This book was filled with mysteries amid a time period I thought I knew more about. I found it fabricating that this type of underground network of people could exist to try to get refugees out of German controlled Dance and other countries. I absolutely loved the different point of views and would habe love to see Nanee and Androu reunite.

Review: First, the writing was gorgeous in its directness and in its simplicity of words conveying complex themesâof regret, threat, fear, bravery and love. The story itself was excellent, full of surprises, mystery, and edge-of-your seat, hold-your-breath tension. The author has a wonderfully low-key way of drawing you into the minds of the main charactersâespecially when their dialogue leaves the silent part unsaid. We know how they feel, and they are in sync even when unsure of one another. A beautiful dance across the pages.

Title: Good winter day reflection
Review: You could feel the sentimentality and tensions of 1940 France; the German army holding northern France and the Vichy French keeping the public in check in southern France. The multi-national characters caught up in all this history are all working at surviving today with few moments to dream as their multiple stories unfold with intrigue, daring, bravery and surprising endings.

Review: I was intrigued by what I learned through this novel. I read a lot of novels from this era, but did not realize the lengths that artists/sculptors/musicians/photographers, etc. were persecuted. Interesting take on the the way the Naziâs treated them.Iâm glad I read it.

Title: Not a bad read
Review: I liked the book overall. But some of the salon scenes bogged it down. It was like trying to be two books- one about the Nazi takeover of France and the art movement during same. It could have been more of a thriller about the war. I had to skip over some of the boggy parts as they were tiresome.
