Title: Not Usually a Mystery Fan but Loved this Anyway!
Review: The characters are well-drawn, the plot believable, the heroine a woman to be admired. Also an interesting, fresh structure with multiple points of view. I would employ the cliché âa real page turner,â but Iâll try a new angle: I was reading this away from home on vacation, and my Kindle charge ran out. Horrors! I HAD to keep reading. I figured out I could put Kindle app and therefore my library on my iPad. Yay! Then iPad ran out of juice. Boo! I came up with a pretty creative solution for how to charge that, because I HAD to keep reading! Footwork not as fancy as our heroineâs, but close. Highly recommend you get this. If you read on a device, charge it up if youâre leaving home!!

Title: good story
Review: I liked the story. It kept me engaged. The ending was a surprise. My only problem with this book was the front cover being about 3/4 of an inch shorter than usual. It was annoying while reading.

Title: Fast read
Review: Told in short chapters through multiple POVs, in the latest Lucy Foleyâs thriller we follow Jess Hadley, a bartender at the Copacabana bar in Brighton, England, who finds herself in a difficult situation in which she needs to leave everything behind. So she decides to go to Paris to visit her half-brother Ben.While Jess is on her way, her brother leaves her a message giving her instructions on how to proceed when she gets into the building. But when Jess finally arrives, Ben is nowhere to be found. His apartment is much more she could have imagined. How Ben could afford such a fancy apartment being a freelance journalist? He also left his wallet behind and Jess decides to ask around his whereabouts. The reader is left in the dark for most of the story. It is impossible not to be reminded of the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building, without the podcast element, while reading this novel. Just like in the series, everyone living in this building becomes a suspect. The building holds a lot of secrets, and secret passages, and the protagonist soon realizes that things are not what they seem. The characters are well developed. Foley gives us a background story of Jess and Ben, and their different upbringing. After their mother died, the siblings were split up. Ben was adopted by a wealthy couple and had a comfortable life while Jess lived from one foster home to another. There are some unexpected twists and her writing flows. I like the authorâs ability to create a creepy atmosphere. It was my first Lucy Foley and I enjoyed reading this one. I also liked how the tension was built slowly but there was nothing in this novel that really wowed me. I believe The Paris Apartment would be an enjoyable read for fans of mystery/thriller in general. It is an ok book, one that will entertain the reader without being extraordinary. Now I am curious to read more from this author.

Title: Paris Apartment with Secrets
Review: ðREVIEWðð´ðð ðððð ðºððððððð!!ðð¯ðð«ð¯ð¢ðð°:I LOVE THIS BOOK! I thought about this book when I wasnât reading it, my mind would wonder about what would happen next and what the final scene would entail. It was an easy read and I didnât want it to be over. This was my first @lucyfoleyauthor novel and I purchased her two previous novels before I finished this one. I am suddenly a huge fan!ðð¡ðð ð ðð¢ð¤ðð:âThe setting, I love all things Paris and while I donât feel it made a huge part of the book I enjoyed it.âThe story wasnât one that felt forced. The story unfolded gently and with good pacing.âThe characters were very diverse and they all surprised me in one fashion or another. The concierge was my favorite.âI really enjoyed the endingðð¨ð¦ð ðð¢ðð©ð¢ðð¤ð¢ð§ð :âThere werenât as many intense scenes as I had hoped for originally. This isnât necessarily negative but I was hoping my blood pressure would have been raised a few more times.âIn hindsight I wish the hidden door, the dumbwaiter, and the cellar were more present throughout. I think I anticipated they would have a larger role once we learn of their existence.âThe changing perspectives makes for great reading, but in some situations I felt I wanted some more depth.

Title: Not your average who done it
Review: We read this one for our bookclub pick for the month and I really enjoyed it. It kept me on my toes, invested, and guessing. While I think I started to guess some of the story, I certainly did not see others coming. I definitely thought the concept was very interesting and the author did a great job slowly unraveling the characters, the links, the clues, and placing enough suspicion to go around. Plus what a great setting! I also enjoyed that there was more to it than just a murder mystery who done it type of story I wonât say more so as not to spoil but the added layers definitely were intriguing. Canât wait for our group to discuss this one especially considering there are helpful questions included!

Title: I liked the multiple surprises at the end
Review: Jess Hadley goes to Paris to stay for a while with her half-brother Ben, only to find heâs disappeared. So she stays in his posh apartment to try and figure out whatâs become of him. The tenants are peculiar. Thereâs something faintly sinister about the elegant old building. And the aged concierge watches every coming and going with creepy intensity.Jess is no angel. She picks locks and is not above a casual theft, but she has a good heart. And sheâs determined to find out what happened to her only living relative, no matter what it takes. It takes a lot.The plot encompasses murder, blackmail, illicit love, betrayal, prostitution â and a marvelously dysfunctional family. Much of the drama revolves around Ben, a self-centered, manipulative charmer. He wants to write that big sensational story that will make his name as a hot investigative journalist. Will the story will ever be told? Will Ben ever be found, dead or alive? Thereâs plenty of action in The Paris Apartment. The authorâs assumption that we know not a word of French (and need a lesson) can be irritating. But otherwise, I found this novel pretty entertaining, though perhaps a bit sophomoric.
